Alisha Nanji
Co-Founder
Alisha and Natasha are twin sisters, who both currently attend Cornell University. They both share very similar interests – a major one: volunteering. They are also super excited to continue hosting Exploring Horizons sessions whilst they are away at university, as they have selected a lovely team of Youth Coordinators to help with Exploring Horizons.

Alexandra R.
Outreach Coordinator
Alexandra is 17 years old and she goes to Holy Trinity School in Richmond Hill.
Q: What are a few of your passions?
A: “I have danced ever since I was 3 years old. I love to travel and love being surrounded by different cultures. I have always loved volunteering and helping out my community.”
Q: What is your favorite part about participating with Exploring Horizons?
A: “My favourite part is getting to know the seniors that come to our sessions. They are always so kind and have great stories to tell. I am very excited to experience new things!”

Sarah H.
Media Coordinator
Sarah is currently in grade ten at Uxbridge Secondary School. She has lived in Uxbridge for 10 years and she was a French immersion student at Uxbridge Public School.
Q: What do you like doing in your free time?
A: “I enjoy playing lots of sports including hockey for the North Durham Blades. I love music and reading and I love getting involved in activities and programs around the community as well!”
Q: What is your favorite part about participating with Exploring Horizons?
A: ”It’s a great way to help out in the community in a high energy environment with lots of very nice people. I’m excited to be working with all the great people!”

Nive V.
Representative Coordinator
Nive is 14 years old and attends Uxbridge Secondary School. She has had the pleasure of living in Uxbridge for 6 years.
Q: What are a few of your passions?
A: “I’ve always had a passion for music and I’ve played piano since about Grade 1. Other hobbies include: reading (I really like the selection series), watching TV (I love the series “Once Upon A Time”), hanging out with friends and family and taking pictures. As I mentioned earlier I’m entering high school and proud to have Exploring Horizons as one of my first volunteering experiences and it’s been absolutely great so far!”
Q: What is your favorite part about participating with Exploring Horizons?
A: “My favorite part about volunteering with Exploring Horizons would have to be seeing how happy everyone was to be there at the session. I am proud to be a part of this great accomplishment”

Emily H.
Youth Coordinator
Emily Hughes is 17 years old and she currently attends Uxbridge Secondary School. She has lived in Uxbridge since she was 7 and she absolutely loves the town and community!
Q: What do you like doing in your free time?
A: “I play rep hockey for the North Durham Blades midget A team in town 4-6 days a week and various sports at school. I love music and athletics and hope to pursue medicine in post-secondary school. I really enjoy working with and being around people.”
Q: What is your favorite part about participating with Exploring Horizons?
A: “The best part is getting to talk with the seniors who attend the sessions. They have so much wisdom and they are always willing to talk with you and I love being able to connect with people I normally wouldn’t in my community. I’m so excited to help continue on Exploring Horizons because the seniors in the town love it so much and really appreciate it.”

Meghna K.
Schedule Coordinator
Meghna is currently a grade 12 student at Holy Trinity School.
Q: What are a few of your passions?
A: “I have been dancing for 11 years. I am also a rugby and soccer player. I love to cook and bake and decorate. I also love animals; dogs are my favourite!”
Q: What are you looking forward to regarding Exploring Horizons? A: “I am very excited to be a Youth Coordinator for Exploring Horizons. I am excited about getting to spend some time getting to know amazing people and their lives.”
